Osheen Harruthoonyan’s A Circle of Bluebirds is on view at Lonsdale Gallery in Toronto through November 13. Using wet darkroom techniques, Harruthoonyan explores time, history and memory. This series was inspired by the artist’s time studying and watching the night skies from Canada, the Middle East, and Europe. Created from manipulation and collages of negatives, the 11 x 14 images acknowledge the expanse of the universe while simultaneously expressing one’s personal story in the face of that cosmos.
