Jessica Houston’s Horizon Felt is a series of photographs and paintings follows the path of Sir John Franklin’s 1845 expedition looking for the Northwest Passage. Like Franklin, Houston made her own Arctic journey, and she focused on the effects of climate change through photographs where landscapes are divided with an obstructed view created by brightly coloured pieces of felt. The resulting minimalist images explore blurred boundaries, potential and limited time. This exhibition is on view at Art Mûr in Montreal through December 19.
