From March 12 though May 9, the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba in Brandon, Manitoba, is presenting three photo exhibitions. In the Main Gallery are Greg Staats’ It Dropped Down Their Minds and Velibor Božoviç’s Deep In the Woods. Both of these use photography as a means of seeking lost knowledge and traces of history. Through a Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) perspective on trauma and renewal, It Dropped Down Their Minds shows how art can play a role in healing. Brian Milne’s Home is on view in the Community Gallery. These large-scale images depict Riding Mountain during each of the seasons. All three exhibitions are free and open to the public.
