Our biggest annual photo contest The World We Live In is now open for entries! This contest is open to all levels of experience—amateurs and pros and everyone in between! Like previous years, there are three themes: Humanity, Environment and Interconnections. This year, for each theme, there are seven prizes offered by our generous sponsors, each prize including a great combo of photo gear. In addition to those prizes, there will be one overall Grand Prize worth more than $10,000! The Grand-Prize winner will receive cool photo gear and Adventure Canada‘s Mighty St. Lawrence expedition cruise for two from Quebec City to St-Pierre-et-Miquelon!
The trip destinations will include Quebec’s North Shore, the Gaspé, the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Magdalen Islands, and Saint-Pierre. (Did you know that St-Pierre-et-Miquelon is the last remaining outpost of New France and is just off the coast of Newfoundland?) There will be stops at many ideal locations for spotting wildlife—Anticosti Island, Mingan Islands National Park, Forillon National Park and Île-Bonaventure Provincial Park—and Saguenay Fjord is one of the best whale-watching sites in Canada. We’ve heard excellent feedback about trips with Adventure Canada, and we are certain this year’s adventure is going to be an incredible experience for the talented winner! One of last year’s winners, Mathieu Rivard, wrote us an email in April to say:
Just wanted to let you know that I got all my prizes and that I am very happy. All that’s left now is to play with my new toys! 😉
The bags are great, the tripod head is of excellent quality, the small Sony camera is a true gem, the Pocketwizards will replace my old Quantums and be a thousand times better! I will use my Blurb credits to make a photobook for my daughter who is going into high school next year. I could go on, but to put it briefly, it’s been like Christmas for me for the last two weeks!
Thank you and your team for putting on this contest and for continuing to offer us a beautiful Canadian photo magazine (in both French and English). It’s very appreciated.
