From February 8 through March 22, Newzones in Calgary will be presenting two exhibitions that will run concurrently with Exposure 2014: Calgary / Banff / Canmore Festival of Photography. Perception is a group exhibition of photo-based artwork that has been manipulated and created using everything from pinholes to Polaroids to Plexiglas to paint. Featured photographers include Franco DeFrancesca (Toronto), John Folsom (Atlanta, GA), Nancy Friedland (Toronto), James Holroyd (Calgary), Joshua Jensen-Nagle (Toronto), Holly King (Montreal), Virginia Mak (Toronto), and Donald Sultan (New York City, NY). Sarah Nind’s solo exhibition Interjections explores the use of pattern in “high art,” while considering systems of language and pattern as a ways to structure the chaos in our lives.
