In 2009 after visiting several museums in Toronto, Peter Gatt’s daughter asked him when he would take her to the photography museum. Gatt was discouraged to realize that there was no photography museum in southern Ontario, so he decided to change that. The Photographic Museum of Ontario is now in the developmental stage; they’ve begun building their collection and are trying to raise enough capital to purchase an old Kodak building to use as the location. The museum is seeking donations of equipment for the museum, including cameras, lenses, tripod, camera bags, etc.; financial donations; and volunteers.
