The Stride Gallery, Calgary, presents Kristine Thoreson in the photographic blog project Rural Roots. The project explores the idea of blurred boundaries and reflects on the nature of the artists identity as the product of both rural and urban influences.
Kristine Thoreson is a photography-based visual artist and post-secondary instructor based in Calgary, Alberta. As a Western Canadian artist, her work is about constructing and deconstructing narratives of personal and cultural identity, and exploring emotional attachments to place.
The exhibition runs until the end of September 2010. Reception will be held at the Epcor Center on September 16, 2010 at 7 p.m.
