The sixth annual Art of Photography Show, an international competition and exhibition of photographic art based in San Diego has selected nine finalists to be featured in the exhibition running from August 28 to November 7, 2010 including work from Canadian photographers Eamon Mac Mahon for the series Northwest and Ozant Kamaci for the series Pause.
The competition received 14,000 entries from 67 countries—the largest number of countries represented to date. Natasha Egan, judge, Associate Director and Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, spent nearly a week with the Art of Photography Show Director Steven Churchill and selected 111 images to be included in the world-class exhibition that is expected to be viewed by over 30,000 people. Even more special and significant for the Show this year is that Ms. Egan chose images from artists representing 25 countries. This is double the number of countries represented in the exhibit last year. The opening reception gala is scheduled for Saturday, August 28 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Lyceum Theatre Gallery.
