In recognition of the United Nations 2010 International Year of Biodiversity, Project AWARE Foundation and SeaWeb’s Marine Photobank are calling for entries for the third edition of “Ocean in Focus” Conservation Photography Contest. The contest is open to all photographers from all backgrounds and all skill levels. Five winners in total will be selected including the Grand Prize winner, three honorable mentions and a final award given to the photographer whose submission particularly highlights the need for biodiversity. The Grand Prize package will be giving away $500 cash plus a host of other marine-conservation gifts. Submitted images should feature species in need of protection, the human impacts upon them and their environments, and the importance of conserving biodiversity. Deadline for all entries is August 31, 2010.
