Julius Shulman’s Los Angeles is an attractive collection of Shulman’s black-and-white images of Los Angeles. Including some of his most recognized images of mid-century Modernist interiors and some less known architectural photos as well, the photos underline Shulman’s long relationship with Los Angeles, where he made his home for nine decades. This classy small-format book would make a wonderful gift for anyone interested in mid-century architecture or Los Angeles (and would fit perfectly in a stocking, if you are still looking for last minute ideas for this holiday season).

One Response to Book Review: Julius Shulman’s Los Angeles

  1. Met him a few times and he invited me over to his house and got to busy to go. One major regret. He was a really nice guy—open and engaging.

I live in Palm Springs. He loved it here. Juergen Nogai was his business partner, another great guy.
