Toni Blakelock from Barrie, Ont., has been an avid walker on the Barrie trail along Kempenfelt Bay for over 10 years. Then several years ago, she got a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 and got into doing macro nature photography on the trail. Through photography, Blakelock says she finds peace of mind and relaxation. She has begun leading volunteer walks and photo talks for senior adults, telling us that that seniors are glad to have someone help them better understand how to use their cameras. Blakelock will also be leading a 4-week macro-photography course with Barrie Parks and Recreation this April and May.

Having met Toni through facebook I have always enjoyed her photography. So naturally when she offered a book with many of her said pictures I was delighted to purchase it. It is a lovely addition to my coffee table. Her unique eye brings the beauty of Ontario and it’s many hidden walks to light with a unique perspective. She captures the tiniest moments in her lens as she seems to get permission from the tiniest creatures to pose for the most incredibly close ups.
